Blossom

The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, even with joy and singing. ~ Isaiah 35:1-2

April has got to be the most beautiful month in the southern Okanagan. For a climate that is such a dry, hot desert in the middle of summer, sping allows her to show her true appreciation to her Creator. Everywhere you turn, trees are bursting into bloom. And not just the fruit trees although they are the most obvious. Backyards are exploding in color. Vibrant yellows of the forsythia bush. Soft pinks of the magnolia. Vibrant pinks of flowering almonds. And every color of tulip, crocus, hyacinth and daffodil. My lilac bushes are loaded with tiny purple clusters, a couple more weeks & they'll be in fragrant blossom. My favourite of all smells in the spring! The beauty of this season just blows me away!

  2. Beautiful trees dressed in white blossoms! My peach tree and apricot tree are in blossom! April is my favorite month too! It goes by so fast, however.

Thank you for the book suggestion. I have a 16 year old son who likes science fiction fantasy--so if it doesn't work for my older son, I'll pass it down!

  4. You say you have lilacs Miss Beck... we don't have lilacs at our new house :( They are my fave in the house too! Miles and I used to see some places with WALLS of them when walking and he broke out of his shyness a few years ago, knocked on the doors and begged some for me - as you can't buy them in flower shops - and the people were always sweet enough to comply... I think they actually like the romantic thought of it. Your photos are stunning... Thanks for sharing, friend!
