Lookin for Adventure...

Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
Lookin' for adventure
And whatever comes our way

Its hard to believe that its almost the end of July and we haven't insured the motorbike yet. Obligations & finances just made it a little harder this year so we are trying to be patient. Hopefully we'll get a month or two of riding in before the cold weather comes but with me not working at a full time job now, certain pleasures have taken the backburner & we're yearning for the open highway & the adventure that comes with being on a bike.

I'm just a passenger of course. Don't know how to drive one yet. Maybe one day I'll learn but I love the view from a bike & spend all my time on it looking around. There are many great roads for biking around here. All the windy roads that the drivers like are not my favourite though. It feels much windier when you're on the backseat. Hoping to get a seat backing made for me probably next year so I can ride in a little more comfort. A sport bike does not ride like a Goldwing for passengers.

But I love road trips of any sort. Especially in the car cuz I enjoy driving just as much as riding. We've got a lot of destinations in the states picked out that we would like to visit and a few destinations in BC as well. We'll probably wait till tourist season is over before we do another road trip.

For now, I'll take my adventures in small doses. A hike in the park. A drive through the valley. A swim in the lake. And remember that every day can be an adventure if you let it be!

  1. That's a beauty of a bike!

Yep. That's a great song "Lookin' for Adventure".

Every day is certainly an adventure. We never know what will happen from one day to the next!

Even in hard times---those are adventures too! The adventurer is often battered by storms, has to climb slippery rocks, and sometimes wonders if they are going to make it!

Thanks goodness we're never alone on the rode of adventure. God is right there!

  2. Yes, I love this about you my Becks, you try to enjoy what each day brings. Even if it does not bring a GOOD thing, in the plainest sense of the word, you always use it as an opportunity to grow and learn, and then after you chewed it all up and squeezed soemthing good out of it, you share it with us.

Got THREE books awaiting you... will find a way to connect.

    hugs,
    Barb

  4. 17 years ago when I met hubby, he had a bike. We used to drive up the mountains and have a lunch and just talk for hours.

What memories you brought back to me...thanks.

    Have a wonderful Lord's day
