Beautiful One!

Beautiful one, I love
Beautiful one, I adore
Beautiful one, my soul must sing.

One thing I have desired of the LORD,That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD ~ Psalm 27:4

I woke up yesterday morning with the song "Beautiful One" running through my head over & over. So I decided I would take my camera out with me & seek some of God's Beauty in the great outdoors. It was a beautiful warm morning & so I went to a spot where I knew I would find it.

What surprised me though, is most of the 'beauty' in this area had been man made! I found the trails I was walking on, lined with beautiful flowers to be a great example of God's work THROUGH man!

Even the river no longer had its natural meandering route, it was straightened & trenched by man to provide for agriculture & farm lands. The bridge over it with its bright yellow paint was beautiful to me on this photo morning. The neighbouring farms with the bright green fields - beautiful! I even found beauty in a row of fence posts through thick lush grasses!

Oh yes, I could have journeyed beyond this agricultural area, up into the mountains to seek God-created beauty, unassisted by the hand of man, but here in the place I had chosen, I was surrounded by such beautiful things that I could only thank God for allowing man to contribute to the beauty of the world. I did not find any of it actually took away from the beauty of a natural landscape but added to it.

And in the stillness of the morning, I could also HEAR the beauty of God around me. Birds, thousands of birds, dozens of species were calling out their morning praises everywhere around me. And so I watched, tiny bright yellow ones flittered all over, too fast & small for me to get a photo. Vibrant blue swallows, darting & swooping across the sky. And making their nest in a knothole in an old wooden cattle chute, one of my favourite things to photograph. Quail, sparrows, red-winged black birds & starlings. All with individual voices, all singing the morning away. Yes, this was God's beauty unassisted by man at its finest!

What a beautiful morning it was!

Beautiful One

Wonderful, so wonderful
Is your unfailing love
Your cross has spoken mercy over me

No eye has seen no ear has heard
No heart could fully know
How glorious, how beautiful you are.

Beautiful one I love
Beautiful one I adore
Beautiful one my soul must sing.

Powerful so powerful
Your glory fills the skies
Your mighty works displayed for all to see
The beauty of your majesty
Awakes my heart to see
How marvelous how wonderful you are.

Beautiful one I love
Beautiful one I adore
Beautiful one my soul must sing

You opened my eyes to your wonders anew
You captured my heart with this love
Because nothing on Earth is as beautiful as you

My soul, my soul must sing,
My soul, my soul must sing,
My soul, my soul must sing,
Beautiful One.

Beautiful one I love
Beautiful one I adore
Beautiful one my soul must sing

Two of my favorite things about not living downtown, being out in nature, are hearing the bird when they wake up and glorify the Lord and late at night when there are no streetlights to dim the beauty of evening skies, the stars still leave me in awe-mom
