Anxious

A view that I love, winter & spring

I need this verse for myself today...

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made know to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

  1. This verse has meant a lot to me over the past year. I have had to turn over a lot of things to God and just let Him take care of it. It is hard for me not to worry. It is something I struggle with at times. But God's peace in indescribable when you do let go and put it into His hands. I will keep you in my prayers.

And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? Anxiety, sometimes we can't stop it from coming at us, but we can keep it from sticking around. When it comes at you, "set your affections on things above" my darling.Mom

  3. i know the feeling, Friend. i have a long story about a delayed answer to prayer, and all the anxiety I went through, and how many lows I had.. What helped a lot, a lot, was speaking Scripture promises out loud every time I had an anxious thought, speaking the Word that aplied to the fearful or anxious thought.. It felt silly at first, but it helped enormously.

By the way, I was anxious for no reason- the answer was yes, I just didn't know it until today.

  4. Thanks for the comments.

Its funny - the more one thinks about anxiety, the worse it can become.

I found a way to relax myself & get my mind in a better place yesterday afternoon (Thanks to a wonderful article in National Geographic about elephant poaching that I was engrossed with)

The more occupied I made my mind, the less anxious I can be. Sometimes, trying to find a quiet place isn't the best way to 'calm your thoughts' so filling up my head was the key.
