Proverbs 3: Part 2

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. ~ Proverbs 3: 5-6

Proverbs 3 is jam-packed with great things that I could blog about so I couldn't let the day go by without pulling a few more verses from it. Verse 5&6 are the verses that most people might pick out of this chapter & they are very important verses to remember!

For me personally, trusting God with ALL my heart means letting go of all things that I try to take control of, and that's hard. I have grown up in the "ME" generation where we were taught to trust in ourselves, believe in ourselves and trust very little in others. Perhaps another reason I struggle with the 'love one another' commandments. People will & do let us down...but GOD does not! We just have to get to the place where we can trust Him with all our hearts.

There's so much more in Proverbs 3 that I could share so instead I invite you to share with me the verses that jump out at you in this chapter and why!

  1. All right, God's been dealing with me a lot lately about the issue of control. Boy, do I need to keep learning to turn it over to God... I'm a "take charge" kind of gal by nature, so the verse that jumped right out at me is verse 7. "Be not wise in thine own eyes; fear the Lord, and depart from evil."

So often I "think" I am wise, but if I'm not fearing, or giving God the proper respect, fully trusting Him, I am doing wrong and I need to turn from it and not make excuses.

not that I do it perfectly or anything
but over the years I am trusting more and leting Him direct me.

  4. Well this whole chapter kinda sticks out at me. Verses 1-4 I like. But verse 11 really applies to my life because of my back injury. If it had not been for it I don't know where I would be today with God. And verses 13-18 because I have been seeking wisdom.
