Direct My Steps: Proverbs 16

"A man's heart plans his way but the Lord directs his steps." Proverbs 16:9

"Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established" Proverbs 16:3

"Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud." Proverbs 16:19

I'm trying to see what's over that next hill in my life right now. I'm straining my neck, willing it to show itself for me before I actually have to climb the hill. Its not yet clear & I can't quite see over it yet.

I need to make a decision and I'm waiting for the Lord's nudging. I'm quite certain that I'm probably going to quit my job, but I'm not sure when, or how to go about it. I'm waiting...waiting for God to show me the time & place. I don't want to walk out in a huff of anger (its been close) because I still have to live in the same small town. Nor do I want to leave them 'high & dry'. And quite frankly, I just don't know what's next.

I need a change. A total change but it still has to have some boundaries to fit in with our lifestyle & needs. But my question is, do I trust God's urging that I just quit & He will provide, or is He urging me to wait & quit when I know I'm moving on to something else?

These are the questions I am weighing in my mind and this chapter of Proverbs seems jam-packed with confirmation that the Lord will show me what to do next but that I have to fully give it up to Him...not just talk about giving it up to Him.

  3. Praying Beck. Take it one step at a time. God will show you what to do. He promises. Keep claiming Proverbs 3:5,6.

  4. Sometimes He just lets us decide....and also sometimes....we do not need to know what is nexrt to take the action necessary to close one door. There are a lot of reasons for that.
